COI DAO: Powered by the People, for the Planet

At the heart of the Clean Ocean Initiative is a decentralized vision for impact โ€” and the COI DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) makes that possible.

Weโ€™ve allocated 15% of the total COI token supply to the COI DAO Treasury, dedicated exclusively to driving real-world change in the fight against ocean plastic pollution.

๐ŸŒ What is the COI DAO?

The COI DAO is a decentralized governance system that allows COI token holders to propose, vote on, and fund charitable grants to organizations tackling the ocean plastic crisis.

This means the community โ€” not a centralized team โ€” has the power to shape where and how our impact is made.

๐Ÿ† Quarterly Grant Rounds

Starting shortly after launch, the DAO will host quarterly grant cycles, where:

  • Mission-aligned nonprofits, startups, and local initiatives can apply for funding

  • COI holders can vote on which projects receive support

  • All voting and fund disbursement activity is fully traceable on the Solana blockchain

  • Results will be published transparently for the public to follow

๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ How Voting Works

  1. Token holders connect their wallet to the COI DAO platform

  2. Browse applicant projects and review their proposals

  3. Cast votes using COI tokens (snapshot-based or quadratic voting models may apply)

  4. Winning projects receive funds directly from the DAO Treasury

๐Ÿ’ก Why It Matters

Our DAO ensures that:

  • Funding is community-led, not centralized

  • Resources go to the most promising and transparent initiatives

  • Every decision is verifiable, permanent, and public on-chain

This isnโ€™t just crypto โ€” this is impact. Measurable, transparent, and democratic.
